Costa Russi 露西園僅有4.35 公頃,葡萄樹是平均65 歲的老葡萄藤。採收後的葡萄發酵和浸漬了三週,最後在橡木桶中陳年了24 個月。

香氣甜美,花香濃郁,展現豐富的紅色莓果、紫羅蘭、黑櫻桃的香氣,帶有微微礦物感,口感多汁細膩,尾韻帶有柑橘香。是GAJA單一園中精緻優雅的代表。

Costa Russi's vineyard covers only 4.35 hectares, and the vines are 65 years old on average. The grapes were fermented and macerated for three weeks before being aged in oak barrels for 24 months.

The nose is sweet and floral, showing rich aromas of red berries, violets and black cherries, with a slight minerality, a juicy and delicate taste, and a citrus finish. It is a representative of the exquisite elegance of the GAJA single-vineyard.

    義大利酒后Barbaresco的領航者,頂級Nebbiolo葡萄的代名詞,名揚國際的GAJA酒廠,擁有Barbaresco產區數個優質單一葡萄園,風格高雅細緻,Barolo酒款也盡灑酒王風範,不僅將皮蒙區的風土特色發揚光大,也在Tuscana產區購入兩處精緻莊園,繼續在國際市場上引領先鋒。 

    打從一開始,歌雅便強調以單一品種反映單一地塊和風土,並成功奠定名聲。酒廠於Angelo父親Giovanni的時代開始大舉購入巴浿絲可的名園,如Sorì San Lorenzo、Sorì Tildìn與Costa Russi。到了Angelo手中時,他便以這些名園推出了「cru」等級的單一園名酒,一炮而紅,並直接帶動產區單一園的潮流。

    於皮蒙區(Piedmont)的巴浿絲可(Barbaresco)起家的歌雅(GAJA),可以說是全義大利最知名的酒廠之一;酒廠釀造的內比歐露(Nebbiolo)紅酒享譽全球,不但是巴羅洛(Barolo)與巴浿絲可的代表性風格,就連簡單的朗格(Langhe)內比歐露,品質也好得不在話下。而歌雅也因為釀酒技藝出眾,繼續成功擴展至托斯卡納(Tuscana)與皮蒙其它產區。

    酒廠的歷史要追溯至1859年,當時的Giovanni Gaja在巴浿絲可開了一家餐廳,為了要搭配他的料理,Giovanni決定以自家兩公頃的葡萄園釀酒,開始了歌雅酒廠的釀酒之路,並成為皮蒙區少數開始自行釀酒售酒的業者。延續了五代至今,歌雅家族的每一代都緩慢地拓張版圖,並逐漸奠定酒廠名聲,其中又屬1970年代全面接手酒廠的Angelo Gaja表現為最傑出。

    Angelo Gaja常被形容為義大利釀酒產業現代化的背後推手之一。他不但大舉更新酒廠釀酒設備,更全面革新葡萄園管理方式,並推出了數個知名的巴浿絲可單一葡萄園,包括Sorì San Lorenzo、Sorì Tildìn與Costa Russi等。除此之外,他還為該產區帶進國際品種與改善釀酒技藝,其中包括高密度種植、蔬果(Green Harvest),與低產率等為種出品質更佳的葡萄而做的改變,以及開始實行溫控發酵、引進法國新橡木桶,和較長的軟木塞等。但這不代表他不尊重傳統。事實上,他是奠定幾項皮蒙釀酒傳統技藝的最大功臣之一。舉例來說,不同於當時流行的短浸泡時間,Angelo一直堅持沿用產區傳統以來的長時間浸泡法;在用桶方面,他也偏好兼用傳統的斯洛維尼亞botti大桶與法國新橡木桶,而非一昧地捨舊換新。

    除了在巴浿絲可產區不斷創新,歌雅更由1988年起,從巴浿絲可進入巴羅拉產區釀酒,買下Sperss葡萄園。1994年,歌雅更進一步購入位於蒙塔奇諾(Montalcino)占地27公頃的Pieve Santa Restituta莊園,以及位於托斯卡納寶格麗(Bolgheri)產區占地60.7公頃的Ca' Marcanda莊園。Angelo如今已將酒莊交棒給家族第五代的女兒Gaia Gaja,繼續管理巴浿絲可和巴羅拉村占地已達250公頃的葡萄園,以及其它位於蒙塔奇諾和寶格麗的產業,繼續釀造能夠反映出在地風土的美釀。

    As the pioneer of Barbaresco, Italy's queen of wine and a synonym for top-quality Nebbiolo grapes, the internationally renowned GAJA winery owns several high-quality single vineyards in the Barbaresco region. Its style is elegant and delicate, and its Barolo wines are also full of the style of the king of wine. It not only promotes the terroir characteristics of the Piedmont region, but also purchased two exquisite estates in the Tuscana region, continuing to lead the way in the international market. 

    From the beginning, Goya has emphasized the use of a single variety to reflect a single plot and terroir, and has successfully established its reputation. The winery began to purchase famous Balearic vineyards such as Sorì San Lorenzo, Sorì Tildìn and Costa Russi during the time of Angelo's father Giovanni. When it came to Angelo's hands, he launched "cru" grade single-vineyard wines based on these famous vineyards, which became an instant hit and directly led to the trend of single-vineyard wines in the production area. 

    "Goya is one of the few flagship wineries in Piedmont that is as famous as the famous wineries in Bordeaux and Burgundy." - Tim Atkin, a well-known British wine critic and wine master. Angelo Gaja led the winery to face up to contemporary trends in the use of international varieties and launched the prestigious Darmagi Cabernet blend. This word means "what a pity" in the local dialect of Piedmont. This is what Angelo's father Giovanni couldn't help but say when Cabernet Sauvignon was first introduced into Piedmont.

    GAJA, which started out in Barbaresco in Piedmont, can be said to be one of the most famous wineries in Italy. The Nebbiolo red wine produced by the winery is world-renowned. It is not only the representative style of Barolo and Barbaresco, but even the simple Langhe Nebbiolo is of excellent quality. Thanks to its outstanding winemaking skills, Goya continued to successfully expand to other wine-producing areas in Tuscana and Piedmont.
     

    The history of the winery can be traced back to 1859, when Giovanni Gaja opened a restaurant in Balearicó. In order to pair his cuisine with the wine, Giovanni decided to use his own two-hectare vineyard to make wine, thus beginning the winemaking journey of Gaja Winery, which became one of the few winemakers in Piedmont to make and sell its own wine. Continuing for five generations to date, each generation of the Gaja family has slowly expanded the territory and gradually established the reputation of the winery. Among them, Angelo Gaja, who took over the winery in the 1970s, performed the most outstandingly.
     
    Angelo Gaja is often described as one of the driving forces behind the modernisation of Italy's wine industry. Not only did he make major updates to the winery’s winemaking equipment, he also revolutionized vineyard management and launched several well-known Balearic single vineyards, including Sorì San Lorenzo, Sorì Tildìn and Costa Russi. In addition, he also introduced international varieties to the region and improved winemaking techniques, including high-density planting, green harvest, and low yields to produce better quality grapes, as well as temperature-controlled fermentation, the introduction of new French oak barrels, and longer corks. But this does not mean that he does not respect tradition. In fact, he was one of the main contributors to the development of several Piedmontese winemaking traditions. For example, unlike the short soaking time that was popular at the time, Angelo has always insisted on using the long soaking method that has been the tradition of the production area; in terms of barrels, he also prefers to use both traditional Slovenian botti barrels and new French oak barrels, rather than blindly replacing the old with the new.

    In addition to continuous innovation in the Balearic region, Goya has also entered the Barola region from Balearic since 1988 and purchased the Sperss vineyard. In 1994, Goya further purchased the 27-hectare Pieve Santa Restituta estate in Montalcino and the 60.7-hectare Ca' Marcanda estate in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany. Angelo has now handed over the winery to his fifth-generation daughter Gaia Gaja, who will continue to manage the 250-hectare vineyards in the villages of Basilica and Barola, as well as other properties in Montalcino and Bulgari, and continue to produce fine wines that reflect the local terroir.
